To be honest, despite having gone to a British school, I was never a good student in English. Never going to English classes and I was wrong with the teachers. In college it was no different to school. Anyway I avoided having to login to the course's first four years. Many of my friends had to do and what they told me they were very unhappy. My only experience in English until this year was just a list of films and a few texts which he had read to archeology. For a moment I would not have to do the course ever, but changes in the "net of materials" me do it. First talk with the coordinator of academic affairs and told me to go to tower 15 to sit an examination. If he pulled a good grade was possible for me exempt the industry. But it did not. Luckily I was at level 4. But my problems did not end there. The schedules do not allow me to reconcile the subjects of archeology with the English course, so I started doing only part time. The social science faculty, is a faculty very active politically. Every time that there is a problem within the faculty students always ask for their rights. It is true that in this building we have several tools that facilitate our work, such as computer rooms, laboratories, libraries and even sport and recreation areas where we can escape from stress, but there are also serious structural problems that exist not only here if not in all universities of our country. Thinking that "La Chile" is a public university and faculty of social sciences was built as a place of study, intervention and social criticism is terrible that in recent years, the monthly tariffs become increasingly expensive. Thus the social sciences will become a tool for the elite and families with money (if they already are not). In the academic area, the contents have focused on development issues, this means working for companies or for goverment ... and social criticism was?. I think this is the biggest problem of this building and social sciences in general. And also the most difficult to resolve. As students we must be more involved in academic things, and the choice of choice which concern us, arguing constantly. It is also necessary to curb price increases in tariffs. True, there are other issues that are important, as the poor conditions of libraries or that computers are never available. But, I believe we must begin with the important things first.
