Chile to world championship

Chile has always has been a country that has not been very successful in sport internationally. Especially in football that is the world leading sport, so it is very competitive. Other countries in South America usually win us, as might say that Brazil is the best football team in the world. Argentina also has been an important country almost as much as Brazil, but lately has not fared well. Paraguay and uruguay are other strong competitors. While we are not so losers like Peru and Bolivia, the news that we classify the South African world puts us pretty happy. Usually we end up suffering and depending on the results of other matches. This time was different, probably because the work that has done Bielsa, without ignoring the players who have done a very good job too. The captain, Claudio Bravo has been a big support for his character and his abilities as a player. Arturo Vidal is an excellent defense on several occasions and scored goals, like Gary Medel. My favorite player is Orellana, better known as "green duende". He has suffered much for being where he is, and when nobody believed,he continued fighting and carry on. In Catholic uUniversity clubs or important as Colo Colo, did not admit because his short stature. Audax Italiano bring him a home, they accept and believed in him. Gave the possibility of giving all the tools emerge. So I like this player. recently his brother dropped in jail for drug traffic, and orellana dedicated the goal that he scored against Colombia. for the World Championchips I want to be with my friends probably do barbecues and drinking beer. I would love to go to South Africa but is very expensive, but being here is not a bad option. The idea is celebrate. Is just think positive.

The portus

a group of British archaeologists discovered a Roman theater in the south of Tibe river . First they found a navigation channel, with enclosures housing and gardens decorated with large columns. Archaeologists think that this port served as a resting point for Roman emperors. Called "Portus" this seaport, which is now removed from water by natural processes is being excavated by people from the University of Southampton, University cabridge and the British School of Rome. While there had been several digs in the area, no one had thought of the existence of this theater, only the archaeologist Rodolfo Lanciani in 1860 during the last major excavation on the site. Now, with the help of magnetic sensors, ground radar and metal probes, we could get a clear picture of the archaeological remains of the theater that has been dated to about the third century after Christ. Earle Greame notes that the area was used by a high official of the Roman state by luxurious materials used in construction and columns, has even come to think of that could be used by the Roman emperor himself. The grandeur of the theater also suggests that took place gladiatorial games, performances of naval or large animal fights. Another important finding within the site, is the head of a sculpture that may represent the hero Ulysses, who appeared at the time of Emperor Claudius, so we know that Portus was enlarged by Trajan in the second century AD. Archaeologists also believe that after the floods and the collapse of many Roman ships portus it became necessary to transport cereal flours create the Roman capital since that time Rome had grown and needed major ports such as Portus.

Presidential elections coming soon. In my country, is a very important process since democracy return. Currently we have four candidates in the race for the post of president. First in the polls is Sebastian Piñera who is a businessman with deep pockets, and above all: lust for power. He owns several major corporations as LanChile or Chilevision. Try to win the people buying their votes. Piñera represents the right's people, people of high society ... but based on deception is gaining the confidence of poor people who are tired of the actual government. Second, Eduardo Frei, who like piñerita is a businessman with really deep pockets. He has been a senator and president and has been involved in several scandals. In her period, he do nothing good. Finally, Ominami and Arrate are candidates unhappy with the concertación they have chosen to campaign on their own to feed their personal egos. In the end, those candidates with fewer votes will be negotiate votes with the candidates with more support, to obtain benefits for themselves. It is short for the electoral process and there is nothing new, only the options that gives us a representative democracy. Again, I prefer to abstain and not be part of this political circus. Anyway, most people like to vote. people feel they are asserting their rights as citizens. Especially older people, I believe that most of the time they feel heard, then they feel that voting can give their opinion.

WHAT TO DO / WHERE TO GO IN SANTIAGO

If you are a foreigner visiting santiago for first time, I honestly recommend you visit other cities, because Santiago is a very unclean and boring sometimes. Whatever, you can find some interesting activities and places where spend a good time and meet people. First you must taste Chilean food so you should visit the central market. In this place you will find lots of meats, seafood and other typical meals like empanado. Following with the tour, in central plaza or "plaza de armas" (you can take the subway) there are some historical buildings and museums to. Other intersting place there is the cathedral, built after the founding of Santiago. In Forest Park you can get a lot of fun, most of people met there. On Sundays there are shows of jugglers and acrobats. Finally two great places are the stage of Italian audax la Florida district, home to the best team in football soccer of this country and then you can drink a good beer in rockandguitarras club in Macul avenue, listening a rock bands alive. I chose these sites because most of them I know very well and I have visited more than once, so I can assure you'll have a good time. That's all.

SEPTEMBER 18TH

This date is a very important date to Chile because one hundred ninety nine years ago people made the first "junta de gobierno", when Napoleon took prisoner to the King of Spain, FernandoVII. But most people believe that in this day we celebrate the independence of the country, but is not true. Anyway, in national holidays we do typical activities like fly kites, eat empanadas, drink chicha that is an alcoholic drink made of grapes, and cook barbecues. Almost all of Chile, and especially in the countryside people build Ramadas or fondas, that are places where you can eat chilean food, play typical games like trompo, dance the cueca and drink a lot of chicha or wine. There are several Fondas in the city like o'higgins park, but the best are in the countryside. Me and my family go to Linares, near Talca. Linares is a small city but in this date the fondas are really big and are builded in the middle of countryside. People practice a very strange sport call Rodeo, where huasos in their horses follow a little cow. Is very entertaining, but sad for the pour cow. This year I will not go to Linares and stay in Santiago because I have a lot of work. Probably I will see my friends and go to the city's fondas that are very entertaining to.

TRANSANTIAGO > BEFORE AND AFTER

Respect to the transantiago I can say that my experience was bad to good. It is true that this transport has changed a lot in the last years and has better things than the yellows buses. First, I think that shows a beautiful image of the public transport. Yellows buses were always dirty and most were very old. Secondly, the transantigo seems to be much safer for people, because bus drivers have a salary and do not need run for passenger. So there are fewer bus crushes and less people die. The salary is other good thing because, bus drivers to get regular money every month. Third, they are more friendly with the environment. But often the tracks are bad designed. I remember when I was in the school and traveled every day in yellow buses. If you dont have a student pass, drivers insult you. Also, often (or always) buses never stop when you call them. But, with the transantiago is another story. They must stop in every bus stop and student are not insulted, but they must have their student pass. If I could change something, I think that would change the color because the buses seem milk boxes and price should be cheaper to.

A COUNTRY I WOULD LIKE TO VISIT

If you ask me what country I would like to visit, although it is a very difficult question. I think the answer is maybe kenya. Since I was a little boy I always liked African animals, especially the lion and the guepard. I really enjoy when I see the NatGeo or Discovery documentary about animals or culture of that country. Honestly I know very little about kenya. One thing I am shure, is that Kenya or Kenya means "shining mountain" and the capital is Nairobi. If some day I visit this beautiful country, I think the first thing I will do is try to go all the natural parks and photograph any animal that I see and also to people. Also, I think it is very important to talk with people and learn about their customs and also about their language. I would like to live for a while in Kenia, but not forever, just enough to go to another country. I would not study at a university or something, I try to learn day by day, with kenia's people. I have always believed that the best school is traveling across the world. Maybe I like to know more about the history and archeology because it is what I learned in Chile, But I prefer kept feeling the way.
